RMXengine (RMXe) Console Expander The RMXe is an outboard processing engine for any VistaMax-networked RMXdigital console running 600-series VistaMax code with rev F or later DSP PROMs. The RMXe adds these features to the RMXd: * Mix-Minus on any DSP-hosted fader. A subtractive mix-minus signal, with talkback, can be created on-the-fly for any DSP-hosted fader (all faders except the four faders closest to the Monitor Control panel, which connect to the KSU and do not have this ability). * Four new split caller/base mix record outputs using PGM 1 - 3 and Offline as the base mixes and the new mix-minus faders summed together. * Dual Console Operation. The four program buses from two RMXdigital consoles can be summed together to create composite Program outputs. CONNECTION The RMXe connects to Facet 1 on an RMXdigital console using a cross-over CAT-6 Link Cable of up to 100 meters. When two RMXd consoles are used in Dual Console Operation mode, a second Link cable is used to tie the two RMXe boxes together in order to sum the four Program buses together. CONFIGURATION There are no controls on the RMXe. Initital RMXe configuration is done through a setup macro file (one for each size of RMXd console). These setup files (rmxe_setup.mac) are located inside four folders that accompany this document. The appropriate macro is uploaded to the SesFiles folder on the RMXd. The RMXe must be added to the RMXdigital in VMCC (requires VMCC v2.2, build 50 or later) by checking the option box for "RMXengine on Facet 1." When checked, the RMXe sources and destinations (signals 65 - 128) are added to the Source Summary signal lists. The rmxe_setup.mac file is added to the Chain File list in VMCC so that it automatically loads when the init.mac file is loaded (which occurs at power up, if the SBC is restarted or when changes are made in VMCC and distributed).
